Map Maker
- File a float plan, create routes for your GPS, and more. (membership required)
Requires you to be logged in. Not a member? Click here.
The map maker gives you a simple way to create and save your own map data for use online. Your map data is saved and
stored online in the Swamp where only you can open and edit it. For its basemap, it uses the most currently available data
from the USGS National Map servers.
You can draw lines and shapes and add points on top of the base map. Once the map is saved, you can email a link to
a view only page to anyone you want. This is a float plan showing them where you intend to be. You can also export your data
to a USR ver 3 format file. This is a file format that can be uploaded into you GPS unit. More instructions on how to use are on the
map maker pages.
Coming soon, I'll be adding the ability to export in GPX format. This will allow more options when viewing on you GPS unit.
Also planning on adding the ability to upload trails, routes and waypoints from your GPS unit so you can save them for later refernce.
